Leadership

Welcome to the Student Leadership class! This unique program is designed for middle school students who are passionate about making a positive impact in their community. As part of this class, students will have the opportunity to mentor second-grade students at W.D. Surratt Elementary.

Program Highlights:

• Mentorship: Middle school students will visit Surratt Elementary regularly to provide guidance and support to second graders. This includes helping with homework, reading together, and engaging in fun educational activities.
• Leadership Skills: Students will develop essential leadership skills such as communication, empathy, and problem-solving. They will learn how to be role models and inspire younger students.
• Community Engagement: This program fosters a sense of community and responsibility. By working with younger students, middle schoolers will understand the importance of giving back and making a difference.
• Personal Growth: Participants will gain confidence and self-esteem as they see the positive impact they have on their mentees. They will also learn valuable life skills that will benefit them in the future.
